About the Role

This is a full-time position within Trinity Health, focused on delivering high-quality patient care and supporting clinical operations in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation.
  • Assist with procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., tympanometry, spirometry).
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts, ensuring all required documentation is complete.
  • File dictations and communicate test results and care plans to patients.
  • Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, surgeries, and provide pre- and post-surgery information.
  • Conduct patient outreach for overdue visits, labs, and referrals.
  • Coordinate physician schedules and ensure insurance pre-certifications.
  • Manage patient follow-ups to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to organizational and ethical standards.
  • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and discharge plans.
  • Promote evidence-based resources to optimize nursing practice and patient care.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, using professional and courteous communication.
  • Assist in training, orienting, and supporting staff within the referral management team.
  • Provide cross-coverage in other clinic areas as needed.
  • Document patient plans of care, test results, and examination findings in medical records.
  • Escalate non-routine issues to the practice manager or healthcare providers.
  • Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as Trinity Health’s policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Active LPN License in the state of Iowa (licensure from other states may be required based on location).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served within 3 months of hire.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office).
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
