LPN Dispensing Nurse - PRN

Requirements

• Possess a graduate degree from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
• Hold a current license as an LPN or RN in the Commonwealth of PA
• Have at least 1 year of nursing experience
• Have experience with drawing labs, performing EKGs, wound care, and triage
• Have experience with chemically dependent populations (preferred)
• Have at least 1 year experience with dispensing narcotic medication, preferably in substance abuse treatment including treatment of opioid dependence
• Hold a current CPR certification
• Be available to work: Saturday-Sunday, 7:00am-10:00am

Responsibilities

• Administer/dispense methadone per State and Federal Guidelines
• Adequately record the administration/dispensing transaction
• Ensure the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director is being followed
• Assess individual response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions
• Maintain all medical records including but not limited to individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor’s orders, etc.
• Maintain tuberculosis, HIV, and Hep C testing for all individuals, including making outside referrals when necessary
• Provide emergency care as needed (CPR, PMAB, Emergency Medications)
