LPN Clinic - Senior Health

PeaceHealth is seeking an LPN for a full-time (1.00 FTE) day position in a clinic setting.

About the role

The Clinic LPN functions as a core member of the interdisciplinary care team, fulfilling and sharing roles such as rooming nurse, resource nurse, and clinical support nurse in the ambulatory patient care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and implements patient care under supervision.
• Prepares patient for examination and provides direct patient care.
• Assists provider with examination and treatment of patient as directed.
• Under provider oversight, may conduct telephone triage using age-specific protocols and computerized resources.
• Documents patient care in health record according to department standards.
• Obtains and conveys information to and from patients, pharmacies, and other providers as directed.
• May obtain referral authorizations for treatment as directed by provider.
• Ensures professional effectiveness through continued education and professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited State Board of Nursing LPN Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an LPN.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet patient needs.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Washington.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Cooperative working and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Effective prioritization skills to manage multiple clinical tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to function independently.

Working Conditions

• Lifting and patient handling up to 35 lbs. without assistive equipment (NIOSH).
• Fine motor skills for grasping and controlling medical equipment and performing precise procedures.
• Frequent pushing/pulling up to 45 lbs. of force (e.g., workstations on wheels, medical carts).
• Ability to perform hands-on CPR for at least 20 minutes using 100-125 lbs. of force (per National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA).
• Frequent movement, including sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling.
• Occasional lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. and frequent lifting up to 5 lbs.
• Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
• Ability to work in a noisy environment.
• Vision and hearing within normal limits (corrective devices permitted).
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $28.73 – $43.09 per hour. The hiring rate depends on education, training, work experience, applicable collective bargaining agreements, seniority, and other factors. A hiring bonus may be available.
