About the role

This position provides nursing support to the physician and delivers direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting. The primary medical contact screens patients and assists providers and registered nurses with examinations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered
• Consults with the Provider or Registered Nurse for guidance in delivering nursing care
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures as needed
• Accurately observes, records, and reports patient concerns, symptoms, reactions, and progress to the Provider
• Aids in examinations and procedures as assigned
• Supports patients emotionally and participates in problem-solving and decision-making processes
• Maintains patient care and ensures staffing and patient needs are met
• Collects medical information from patients and takes vital signs
• Facilitates patient's clinic visit by ensuring charts are available and escorting patients to and from exam rooms
• Assists with scheduling when necessary

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Licensed Practical Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date

Qualifications

Experience in phlebotomy and lab draws is preferred but not required. On-the-job training is available.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in using medical equipment are required.
