About the Role
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Baptist Health, you will provide direct, individualized, goal-directed, and effective patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Your responsibilities will include administering medications, reporting patient symptoms and conditions to the RN, and following the Nursing Care Plan in accordance with Standards of Practice, policies, and procedures. In Employee Health, you will also conduct new hire and annual health screenings under direct RN supervision. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, individualized, and goal-directed patient care as outlined in the Nursing Care Plan.
- Administer medications and report patient symptoms or conditions to the supervising RN.
- Perform new hire and annual health screenings in Employee Health under RN supervision.
- Adhere to Standards of Practice, policies, and procedures.
- Complete additional duties as assigned within the scope of the LPN role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an LPN program or degree in Nursing required.
- Active LPN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) may be required based on department assignment.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Strong team leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm in difficult situations and handle complex multifactor scenarios.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and a proven track record of successful performance.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to supervise, train, organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards.
