Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical nurse program
- Maintains a valid Louisiana license
- CPR certified within 30 days of first shift of direct patient care or prior to completion of orientation
- Oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills
- Personal qualities such as kindness, empathy, understanding, respect, good judgment, integrity, loyalty, a sense of humor, and the ability to relate to people in a compassionate manner
Job Related Hazards
- Able to walk three miles per shift on unit
- Able to care for patients with infectious diseases
- Able to administer aerosol medication
