About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team offering patient care and supporting higher-level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.

The LPN demonstrates professional and clinical knowledge relative to the designated clinical practice setting in the delivery of direct patient care, adhering to the level of verified competency dictated by the site-specific program. The LPN works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and communicate effectively with other licensed independent practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA) in collaboration while providing care and treatment for patients, clinical support and teaching for patient and family members, and adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.

LPNs manage responsibilities of workload with accuracy, provide excellence in customer service, perform testing, medication administration, and implement nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care. The LPN serves as a patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP).
• Support higher-level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.
• Deliver direct patient care, adhering to verified competency levels.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including physicians, NPs, and PAs.
• Provide clinical support and teaching for patients and family members.
• Perform testing, medication administration, and implement nursing interventions and care plans.
• Serve as a patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease.
• Manage workload with accuracy and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

• A valid LPN license in the state(s) of practice is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Clinical experience preferred.
• Epic experience highly preferred.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday. No nights or holidays.
