About the role

We are seeking a passionate Nurse to join our growing team of clinicians at Kids Unlimited Learning Academy (KULA), an early intervention day treatment clinic for children with special needs. KULA serves children from birth to Kindergarten, with expanded services during summer months for elementary school-aged children. Our clinic provides a range of services, including therapy evaluations, developmental/psychological testing, nutritional consultations, and audiological evaluations. Children are placed in treatment rooms based on developmental needs and ages, supported by teachers, assistants, therapists, and nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services to infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and other medical personnel to address patient medical needs.
  • Report significant medical information to patients' doctors and/or the Medical Director.
  • Maintain an organized list of medications for each patient and coordinate with parents, doctors, and pharmacies for prescription details.
  • Examine patients in need of medical services and respond appropriately, notifying parents when necessary.
  • Gather medical information for all new patients and relay medical issues to therapists and treatment room staff.
  • Ensure each patient is evaluated and assessed by the Medical Director.
  • Make referrals to outside specialists and other allied health personnel.
  • Obtain discharge summaries for patients hospitalized and absent from the clinic.
  • Instruct staff on proper procedures and documentation guidelines for accidents or incidents.
  • Complete reports for suspected abuse cases and document appropriately.
  • Maintain documentation of immunizations and ensure they are current.
  • Update and maintain a list of patient allergies and inform relevant parties.
  • Administer flu shots and TB skin tests as indicated.
  • Maintain first aid kits, oxygen tanks, and daily temperature checks for medication refrigerators.
  • Ensure medical documentation complies with regulatory agencies and standards.
  • Review and distribute medical records to appropriate personnel.
  • Interpret clinical data to identify actual or potential patient risks.
  • Schedule CPR training and maintain documentation of employee CPR certification.
  • Serve as a medical resource for staff.
  • Assist in marketing and patient recruitment as needed.
  • Complete continuing professional education annually to maintain licensure.

Requirements

  • Current Arkansas license as an LPN.
  • One year of successful experience in a similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is open to both experienced nurses and newly licensed nurses. A successful mix of talent and motivation is the most important factor in finding the right candidate.
