About the role

Avenir Behavioral Health Center is a Level 1 inpatient psychiatric hospital and licensed detoxification center located in Maricopa County, Arizona. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive care and treatment for adults experiencing mental health crises.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic depressive illness, suicide risk, severe confusion, psychosis, danger to self or others, delusions, hallucinations, aggressive or assaultive behaviors, sudden changes in behavior, dementia, dual diagnosis detox, and detox.
• Provide individual and group therapeutic care in a safe, comfortable, calming, and soothing environment.
• Oversee a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, discharge planners, and other staff to assess and treat patients' mental health needs.
• Ensure personalized discharge planning with tailored strategies and ongoing support to meet each patient's unique needs.
• Offer structured, individualized acute mental health care in a comfortable, secure, and supervised environment.
• Administer personalized medical detox services in a safe, comfortable, and supportive setting.

Requirements

Must have a relevant degree in psychology, psychiatry, nursing, or a related field. Experience in inpatient psychiatric care and detoxification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders and treatment options.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with patients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with crisis intervention and emergency care.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
