About the role

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at US Urology Partners is to provide administrative and clinical support to the providers of the practice. The LPN must be able to work independently as well as interact as part of a team, consistently demonstrating respect and professionalism to fellow staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Direct assigned provider patient schedule throughout the day.
  • Manage medication/script line; redirect clinical assessments to the RN, PA/NP, or provider as needed.
  • Complete all company training and in-services in a timely manner, including annual OSHA training and PPD placements.
  • Prepare room and equipment for office procedures, assisting providers with clinical care, including patient preparation for appointments.
  • After proper patient identification (full name and birthdate), greet patients in the waiting area and escort them to the clinical care area.
  • Assist in placing patient belongings in the exam room and update the patient EMR chart with weight, vital signs, medications, and medical updates, ensuring the chart is ready for the provider (including lab work, x-rays, consultations).
  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing questions or concerns within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain working knowledge of OSHA compliance standards and apply these policies to daily responsibilities.
  • Report any adverse medication events to the supervising provider.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to other clinics as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.
  • Current state license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • At least one (1) year of medical/surgical experience is preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer information systems.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Pay

The hourly range for this position varies based on experience, education, and geographical location: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour.
