Essentials of This Leadership Role

  • Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
  • Possess a valid LPN license issued by the State.
  • Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • May be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).
  • Adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.

Expectations

  • Ensure oversight of the care, treatments, and medication administration to all residents.
  • Continually monitor and assess the residents’ condition and document compliance or report omissions and errors in accordance with plans of care, established medical practices, and all applicable laws and regulations, and Viva’s policy and procedure.
  • Affords assistance with oversight of ancillary care staff and other front lines staff as it applies to care.
  • Ensure and maintain resident care plans and communicate any changes to care staff.
  • Medication assistance and/or administration with adherence to the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
  • Reorder and receive medications.
  • Provide personal care and ADL assistance.
  • Supervise, schedule, and cover care staff that meets regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides shift to shift reports.
  • Provides emergency assistance to residents with appropriate follow-up.
  • Obtains and transcribes physician orders.
  • Affords or handles varying circumstances and tasks in all areas as directed by the Wellness Director.

Requirements

  • Annual Health Requirements: Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
  • Physical And Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Assistive Devices): Move intermittently throughout the workday, cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position, see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately, meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination, relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents, push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, and assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
