About the role
The LP Stores Clerk is responsible for parts distribution, parts put away, cycle counting, housekeeping, and accepting deliveries after receiving hours. This includes checking for quality and specifications, inspecting for damage, and unloading product, particularly chemical/bulk tank deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Issues spare parts for all plant and administrative personnel using NAS eight digit coding system.
- Assists in the delivery of parts when necessary.
- Processes part put away by placing all inbound stock and non-stock receipts in designated storage areas.
- Counts designated inventory on a monthly basis.
- Maintains proper housekeeping of all storage areas, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs random stock checks and notifies Turn Lead of impending stock outs on all items.
- Completes out of stock forms for stock items requested with no available inventory to fulfill requests and turns them in to the Stores Coordinator.
- Accepts all trucks when the Receiving Department is not present, inspects shipments for quality, damage, and specifications, places material in designated storage area, and communicates delivery with receiving personnel. This includes chemical deliveries.
- Trains and/or certifies on operating all power industrial lift trucks and other equipment used in the Central and LP Stores areas.
- Completes forklift checklists as defined in work instructions.
Supplemental job functions
- Participates in relevant continuous improvement programs.
- Reports directly to and is accountable to the Stores Turns Leader.
- Serves the needs of all NAS personnel, both plant and administration.
- Reports concerns with quality, damaged shipments, and/or incorrect deliveries to Turns Lead.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED).
Skills
- Physical abilities required: Mobility in plant, sitting, standing, walking, making use of hands for technical tasks, lifting up to 50 pounds, visual ability, communication abilities.
