Lower School Counselor

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the school counseling curriculum through appropriate courses within the ES, LS and MS (grades 5-6) divisions
  • Aid and support students in the areas of emotional and social development
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to better understand and meet the needs of all students
  • Provide individual and small group counseling in response to identified needs
  • Make appropriate referrals of students and parents to outside agencies and specialists when necessary
  • Be visible in school by participating in a variety of activities that allows for the development of trust and relationships with students
  • Host parent education events and communicate articles and critical information to parents
  • Work in partnership with other members of the Counseling Department, Cor Cordis team, Office of Mission & Ministry, and other student support staff

Requirements

  • Experience supporting girls' mental health and wellness in a school setting
  • Experience working in an all-girls school, or experience in independent schools a plus
  • An appropriate advanced mental health degree and licensure

Pay

$36,000 to $42,000 per year
