About the Role

Uhl will provide on-the-job training to become an HVAC Building Automation Technician. As a union contractor, we will facilitate the process to become a union low-voltage electrician. You will serve as a direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes.
  • Coordinates with account managers, the service department, and customers to understand requirements for on-site programming, installation, and repairs by examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Maintains a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers, even under stress.
  • Creates and downloads programming, performs start-ups, functional testing, and troubleshooting on assigned projects.
  • Uses cutting-edge software and technology, along with various tools, to troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules to identify and resolve issues.
  • Enforces safety standards to the highest level.
  • Provides technical guidance to diagnose control system concerns.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Advanced written, verbal, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of organizational and strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to work well with others, both internally and externally, including in stressful situations.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of the industry is recommended but not required.
  • At least 2 years of technical and/or field-related experience.
  • State of MN Power-Limited Technician (PLT) license is a huge plus.
  • Understanding of Commercial HVAC systems is a huge plus.

Pay

Salary range: $70,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
