Low Voltage Technician
About the role
This is a full-time, on-site Low Voltage Technician role based in Clarksville, IN. The Low Voltage Technician installs, maintains, and repairs low voltage systems such as data and voice cabling, security systems, access control, and cameras.
Responsibilities
Daily tasks include reading and interpreting plans, pulling and terminating cables, mounting and connecting devices, testing system performance, and documenting work performed. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing troubleshooting on electrical and low voltage equipment, and coordinating with other trades and project managers to complete projects on schedule. The technician follows all safety protocols, maintains tools and equipment, and communicates clearly with clients and team members about progress and service needs.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical engineering principles relevant to low voltage systems.
- Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance and care of electrical equipment used in low voltage installations.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues in low voltage and related electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems such as data cabling, security, cameras, and access control is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to safety practices, including adherence to electrical codes and company policies.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on job sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in electrical or low voltage fields is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites as needed.
