Duties
- Installing and servicing low voltage cabling (Data/Voice/Coax/Audio/Visual/Fiber)
- Install cable support systems (j-hooks or ladder rack)
- Terminating Cat6/Cat6A network jacks
- Perform copper cable testing
- Installation and termination of cameras, card readers, motions, exit devices, and other security/access control equipment
- Must be able to install, test, and troubleshoot basic network issues
- Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
- Use of hand and power tools in both new construction and finished residential and commercial environments
- Must be willing to travel locally (own car) and within the state (transportation provided)
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning
Qualification
- At least 3 years of experience working with new commercial construction low-voltage projects
- Ability to travel in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado
- Ability to understand and effectively explain every aspect of the structured cabling system, including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices and the ability to differentiate between them and make recommendations
- Read, write, and understand English
- Able to distinguish color codes
- Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and kneel without assistance
- BICSI Installer/ Technician Certification a plus
- Familiarity with ANSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards a plus
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certificate a plus
