About the role
Low voltage technicians work in a team environment to meet project objectives. They must have a great attitude, be dependable, willing to learn and take directions and are reliable on the job site. In this role you will be completing both ISP and OSP work.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
- Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting low voltage cable systems.
- Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
- Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
- Travel to job sites anywhere within your state, may also be required to travel within the USA.
Requirements
- Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder.
- Own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches).
- Able to work 2nd/3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
- Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical.
- Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
- Commercial construction experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Tech 1: All above requirements plus a minimum of 1 year of commercial low voltage installation experience.
- Tech 2: All above requirements plus a minimum of 2 years of commercial low voltage installation experience.
- Tech 3: All above requirements plus a minimum of 3 years of commercial low voltage installation experience.
Skills
- Ability to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with limited supervision.
- Ability to install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables proficiently.
- Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with supervision.
- Ability to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with no supervision.
- Ability to install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables with no supervision.
- Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with no supervision.

Pay
- Tech 2: $21.00 - $25.00/hour.

Schedule
- Must be able to travel 100% to the project site in Montgomery, AL.
