Low Voltage Superintendent
About the role
A Specialty Systems Superintendent at FTI is responsible for overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of specialty systems. This includes managing up to 10 technicians and multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to timelines. The role involves traveling to customer premises to perform these tasks, often working nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation of specialty systems and manage multiple projects.
- Travel to customer premises to install, troubleshoot, and maintain specialty systems (including copper/fiber structured cabling, outside plant, CATV, CCTV, WLAN, fire alarm, access control, security, audio, etc.).
- Develop and integrate project schedules with other trades.
- Develop and integrate project schedules with other trades.
- Possess experience with complex and/or technical installations.
- Independently develop accounts to widen scope and generate additional revenue through upselling, estimating, pricing, and negotiation.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of Electronic Systems Technician (EST) Apprenticeship Program (if applicable).
- Travel: 60-75%
- Work Schedule: Between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. May vary based on customer demands and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Education: Completion of Electronic Systems Technician (EST) Apprenticeship Program (if applicable).
Skills
Skills:
- Knowledge of BICSCI Cabling Installation Program, NICET, and NEC.
- Self-directed management skills.
- Experience with complex and/or technical installations.
- Ability to develop and integrate project schedules with other trades.
- Experience in upselling, estimating, pricing, and negotiation.
- Strategic use of partnerships and planning.
