Low Voltage Specialist

TEKsystems is seeking a Low Voltage Specialist for a contract position supporting multiple fast-paced large Commercial/Industrial projects across the State of Utah. The role involves access control systems, security camera installation, structured cabling, and AV systems, with opportunities for travel and additional compensation.

About the role

Technicians will primarily work out of the Ogden area. Success is measured by timely, high-quality installations and effective collaboration with less experienced team members. Candidates must bring their own tools and wear standard PPE; fire-retardant gear is not required.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot access control systems
• Install security cameras
• Perform structured cabling tasks
• Set up and tear down AV systems
• Collaborate with team members on large-scale projects

Requirements

• Basic hardware skills (set up/tear down)
• Proficiency with the following tools:
  • Punch Down Tools (Combination 66, 110, Belden, and Krone)
  • Philips & Standard Screwdrivers (#1 and #2)
  • 10 & 1 Screwdriver (covers all other screwdrivers)
  • Adjustable Wrench (Crescent Wrench)
  • 6" and 8" Adjustable Pliers (Channel Locks)
  • 9" Lineman Pliers
  • Side Cut Pliers (Dikes)
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Flashlight
  • Snips
  • Cable Knife or Razor Knife
  • Tape Measure
  • Torpedo Level
  • Tool Pouch
  • Tool Bag or Tool Bucket
  • Sheet Rock Saw
  • Hammer
• Must provide and wear standard PPE

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
