Low Voltage Design Drafter - Dallas, TX

About the role

Integrated Protection Systems (IPS) is a rapidly expanding security systems integrator based in Minneapolis, MN, seeking a Low Voltage Design Drafter based in the Dallas area. The role supports projects nationwide and offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $70,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Create clear 2D drawings for cameras, access control, structured cabling, AV, and intrusion systems, including full Bills of Materials
• Perform required calculations to ensure dimensions, tolerances, and specifications are accurate
• Maintain document control and revision tracking; support field RFIs and as-built updates
• Create and maintain 3-part specifications for architectural documents
• Initiate and manage the Change Order process
• Assist in the development and documentation of engineering, drafting, and release standards
• Communicate design intent with clients and participate in design meetings
• Develop internal product documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs) for new and existing solutions
• Independently manage both small and large-scale projects
• Continuously improve drawing efficiency by using advanced CAD features and AI tools to reduce errors and speed development

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in drafting or design
• Experience with AutoCAD LT and/or Revit LTK
• Knowledge of drafting standards and processes
• Awareness of AI tools available for drafting and design
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to train on our product lines
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Self-starter mindset

Qualifications

• Experience developing construction documents, drawings, and specifications
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems (Access Control & Camera Systems)
