Low Boy Truck Driver
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Safe loading and securing equipment for transportation
- Operate construction and paving equipment
- Work day or night shifts as required
- Perform daily safety checks of vehicle fluids and inspect for damage
- Notify supervisor of vehicle repairs needed
- Drive different types of commercial vehicles (water tanker, flat bed)
- Maintain and complete pre and post trip DVIRs
- Calculate weights of equipment to stay within DOT restrictions
- Follow USDOT and FMCSA safety regulations
- Carry a valid medical examiner’s certificate
- Perform incidental work items and duties as assigned
Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes)
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- At least 2 years of experience operating commercial trucks, preferably with lowboy/flatbed equipment
- Familiarity with safe operation of construction and paving equipment
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and oversize/overweight hauling requirements
- Ability to obtain and manage necessary permits for oversized loads
- Skilled in equipment tie-down procedures and safety protocols
- Basic mechanical knowledge for pre-trip/post-trip inspections and identifying maintenance issues
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with team members
- Reliable and punctual

The Lowboy – Truck Driver is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs on construction projects any combination of the duties described above.
Skills
Valid Class A CDL, strong knowledge of DOT regulations, experience with construction and paving equipment, ability to operate different types of commercial vehicles, and basic mechanical knowledge.
