Lounge Bartender

About the role

As a Lounge Bartender, you will take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as light meals, ensuring courteous and efficient service according to hotel specifications. You will also maintain stock, supplies, and the cleanliness of the outlet and equipment.

Potential career growth opportunities include advancing to F&B Supervisor, F&B Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, Director of Operations, General Manager, or VP of Food & Beverage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas, tables, service areas, and the outlet.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
• Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
• Obtain and secure assigned bank, ensuring accuracy of contracted monies.
• Operate P.O.S. and manual systems proficiently.
• Greet guests, take orders (food and beverage), and utilize suggestive/up-selling techniques.
• Input orders into the system and verify transmission with the Bartender/Kitchen.
• Present guest checks and process payments while adhering to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
• Clean and reset tables immediately after guests depart.
• Collect and report tips at the end of assigned shift.
• Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and Hotel requirements.
• Complete all closing reports in the P.O.S. system.
• Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• 1-year experience as a Server or Barback preferred but not required.
• Good understanding of the English language.
• Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards.
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service.
• Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
• Certification in CPR.
• Ability to input and access information in property management systems, computers, and point-of-sale systems.
• Previous guest/customer relations training.
