Lot Attendant
General Summary
The Lot Attendant is responsible for maintaining vehicle inventory and lot appearance. Additionally, the Attendant is responsible for moving and cleaning vehicles and assisting the management team as requested. These activities shall be conducted while delivering the highest level of customer service in accordance with Findlay Volkswagen’s purpose statement and standards for excellence.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintains new and used vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles, replenishing fuel as needed, and notifying service managers of any maintenance and/or mechanical concerns.
- Keeps new and used vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars and clearing debris in accordance with dealership display standards.
- Ensures dealership’s facility is neat and orderly, empties trash receptacles, clears debris, and informs management of maintenance concerns.
- Drives vehicles to and from service lanes, service stalls, and parking lots as needed.
- Completes technical 'test' drives as necessary
- Transports vehicles to auction sites, marketing events, storage lots, dealer trade locations, et cetera.
- Ensures the doors of all vehicles, and buildings are locked.
- Ensures back entry gates are locked and secured as required.
- Ensures all vehicles on dealer lot have mandatory window stickers and alerts the sales management team immediately if not.
- Maintains condition of vehicles in the showroom.
- Aids with placement of showroom units as directed by the Marketing Director.
- Takes initiative to exceed customer satisfaction, even if it requires overcoming obstacles.
- Ensures that each and every customer encounter is consistent with Findlay Volkswagen core values.
- Ensures that customer complaints or concerns are immediately turned over to members of the management team to ensure they are handled tactfully, promptly and according to dealership’s guidelines.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Clean driving record and ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license.
- Clear background check.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Federal drug screen.
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Must be ambulatory enough in order to access vehicles and maneuver around vehicles to ensure cleanliness, etcetera.
- Sometimes required to bend, stoop, and stretch.
Work Environment
- Exposed to outside weather conditions including (but not limited to) summer heat and winter cold.
- May be exposed to loud noises and the presence of exhaust fumes from vehicles.
- May be exposed to chemicals used as part of the detail process.
- May be required to access customer and company vehicles.
Team Member Expectations
- On time (15 minutes before shift)
- Maintain an accurate timecard by clocking in and out in the ADP time management system.

- Remain on task without constant manager involvement.

- Attend and participate in team meetings as scheduled and annual all employee meetings.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
