General Purpose

The Loss Prevention Agent supports store safety and loss prevention programs by monitoring stores for theft and fraud and follows policies to deter or apprehend individuals after validating dishonest acts have occurred. The Agent works closely with LP Field Leaders, corporate investigators, and external partners to document findings, assist in investigations, and resolve incidents.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor store entrances, exits, sales floor, and checkout areas to identify theft or fraudulent behavior.
  • Observe and engage individuals exhibiting dishonest actions to prevent potential loss.
  • Utilize CCTV, reporting tools, and investigative resources to detect theft indicators and validate incidents.
  • Accurately document incidents, maintain evidence, and provide timely reports to leadership and Investigations teams.
  • Partner with leadership and law enforcement to resolve theft cases and support apprehensions when authorized.
  • Assist with trespass enforcement for repeat offenders in compliance with company policy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on major theft incidents and contribute to follow-up investigations.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and operational vulnerabilities to store management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support loss prevention objectives.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • High School education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in loss prevention, retail, or security.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners including law enforcement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve with the proper sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing as required.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
  • Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
  • Must be able to travel. Will require frequent driving.
  • This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
  • However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
