About the role
Perform inspections of low to medium complexity risk exposures, including commercial, industrial, and non-manufacturing locations for jurisdictional certification, loss prevention, risk assessment, OnSights, and claims investigations. May also conduct fee service engineering inspections.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience with boilers, unfired pressure vessels (UPV), industrial, mechanical, and electrical equipment (required)
- Engineering degree (BSME, BSEE, or BSChE) may substitute for practical experience
- National Board Commission (required)
- Successful completion of company-required training

Physical Requirements
- Ability to crawl through 11” x 15” openings into confined spaces and function in very tight spaces
- Ability to climb vertical ladders and several stories of stairs
- Ability to climb and function at heights of at least 30 feet, up to eight to ten stories
- Perform bending, stretching, and twisting motions
- Ability to withstand temperature variations up to 70 degrees
- Ability to walk 3-5 miles and stand for long periods, remaining stationary 50% of the time
- Ability to lift own body weight while hanging or entering confined spaces with safety equipment
- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs
- Visual acuity of 20/20 (natural or corrected) and ability to identify colors
- Ability to hear (corrected) the sounds of equipment operation
