About the role

EXL Risk Control seeks candidates with 10+ years of experience in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control, excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards. Candidates with knowledge or experience in commercial insurance, inspections, or fire and safety assessments are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule on-site surveys
  • Provide risk evaluation and risk improvement reports to insurance industry clients
  • Underwrite commercial insurance policies based on risk assessment reports
  • Manage and secure customer appointments within a local territory
  • Conduct risk evaluations and risk improvement services for insured businesses across various industries
  • Assess risks for commercial insurance lines including Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk
  • Utilize tools such as digital cameras, measuring devices, and reliable vehicles to conduct inspections
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing risk conditions and recommendations for improvement
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks on time
  • Participate in special projects or more challenging risk evaluation surveys

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control
  • Excellent communication and computer proficiency
  • BS Degree in Engineering, Safety, or the physical sciences (preferred)
  • CSP or ARM designations (preferred but not required)
  • Experience working with major insurance carriers or national brokers
  • Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Loss Control, Underwriting, and Claims Adjuster experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge or experience in commercial insurance, inspections, or fire and safety assessments
  • Preferred experience in conducting commercial insurance inspections and fire and life safety investigations

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Auto and General Liability Insurance (preferred)

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in report preparation
