Loss Control Consultant Commercial Insurance – Independent Contractor- Des Moines, IA.

Responsibilities

• Schedule on-site surveys
• Provide risk evaluation and risk improvement reports
• Underwrite commercial insurance policies
• Make recommendations to control and/or correct potential loss-producing conditions
• Manage and secure customer appointments within a local territory
• Complete work assignments on time
• Conduct special projects or more challenging risk evaluation surveys
• Assess risk for various commercial insurance lines of business including Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk

Qualifications

• Computer with an image/document scanner, digital camera or tablet, high-speed internet access
• Measuring device such as a laser, 100 ft. tape, or measuring wheel
• Reliable vehicle
• Auto and General Liability Insurance
• 10+ years of Risk Control Consulting experience
• Experience working with major carrier or national brokerage preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety, or the physical sciences preferred
• CSP or ARM designations preferred but not required
• Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Loss Control experience
• Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Underwriting experience
• Commercial Lines Property/Casualty Claims Adjuster experience
• Commercial insurance inspections experience
• Fire and Life Safety investigations/inspections experience
