Loss Control Consultant

About the role

A home-based Loss Control Consultant who partners with Maine municipalities to identify risks, improve workplace safety, protect public assets, and reduce losses through education, training, and risk management consulting. Consultants manage their own schedules, conduct on-site risk assessments, provide training, evaluate facilities and safety programs, complete property valuations, and develop practical recommendations. Frequent statewide travel with occasional overnight travel is required.

Requirements

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience in occupational safety, risk management, insurance, municipal government, commercial construction, fire service, or a related field
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, MUBEC, or other applicable safety standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other web-based applications
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and build strong relationships with members
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Maine
