About the role

The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking a Clinical Associate (per diem, 43%) to provide patient care services in the Emergency Department at UCI Health - Los Alamitos. This role has the potential to work at other sites in the future.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and provide treatment for Emergency Department patients.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and patient documentation within departmental standards.
• Complete patient encounter forms and meet the requirements outlined in the Professional Fee Billing (IL372) Compliance Plan.
• Maintain UCI Medical Staff Privileges and UCI Medical Group active membership.

Requirements

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced work environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to problem solve objectively.
• MD or DO with board certification/board eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• California DEA registration and California Medical License/eligibility.

• Total Compensation: Per diem rate is $210/hr. Paid bi-weekly based on hours worked during pay period.

Schedule

• Provide availability for at least 2-3 shifts per month.
