About The Position
Saint Ignatius High School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Visual Arts Teacher for the spring semester (mid-April through May), with the possibility of teaching again at the start of the fall semester. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, Saint Ignatius is a leading Jesuit college preparatory school for boys.
Primary Areas Of Responsibility
- Plan for and teach:
- Visual Arts Studio
- Digital Literacy: a project-based introduction to digital arts and technology
- Introduction to Sculpture Studio (3-D design, clay and sculpture)
- Guide high-impact, college-preparatory learning activities that align with our school standards and mission.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment with fair and consistent standards in all areas--including content and assessments as well as interpersonal relationships and behavior.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major in visual art, design or similar; Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience teaching in a high school classroom setting.
- Familiarity with Catholic, Jesuit education is a plus.
- Current Ohio teaching license is recommended, but not required with relevant experience.
- Current Long-term Substitute License or eligibility to obtain required.
