Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage students in learning, manage student behavior in a positive, proactive and constructive manner.
• Create a flexible program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth.
• Establish effective rapport with students, seek to meet individual student needs.
• Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continuing education.
• Supervise students within assigned areas and as needed.
• Develop Lesson plans.
• Deliver group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines.
• Provide diverse learners with accommodations and modifications to ensure learning.
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators to address instructional and/or classroom issues.
• Create and support a culture that empowers students.
• Encourage a culture of inclusiveness and support for all children.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Students, volunteers, assistants

Qualifications and Skills

• Indiana License to teach in appropriate grade/subject or Indiana Substitute Teacher License

Physical Demands

• Standing up to four hours.
• Climbing, bending, stooping and lifting up to 20 lbs as part of routine job activities within the classroom environment.
