Long-Term Substitute: Kindergarten Teacher

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the success and growth of students in academic and functional skills. Specific educational needs of individual students will be addressed, while creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment. Anticipated Time Frame: Thursday, December 17, 2026, through April 23, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the abilities of students.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals and objectives.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, while modifying instructional methods to fit individual students' needs.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including current technology and whole group/small group learning.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with administration, staff members and parents in providing feedback regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid PA Teaching Certification required: Elementary PK-4
• Related teaching experience preferred
• Completion of all mandated pre-employment documents

Pay

Starting Base Salary: Temporary Professional Contract, as applicable and pro-rated for actual days worked: Bachelor's, Step 1, $69,306.

Schedule

Workday: 8:00 AM - 3:45 PM, which would be 7 hours and 45 minutes, including a 30-minute, duty-free lunch period.
