About the role

Provides instruction to students in grades K-2, adhering to the Huntington County Community Schools curriculum and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Teach reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other subjects as outlined in the curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans and materials that align with state educational standards.
  • Assess student progress through various methods and provide feedback to parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary units of study.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
  • Valid teaching license in Indiana.
  • Experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Knowledge of current educational technology and its integration into the classroom.

Skills

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
