Long-Term Substitute for Grade 7 Math Teacher

About the role

Putnam Middle School is seeking an innovative and motivated Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher for 7th grade.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging lessons in line with grade-level curriculum and state standards.
• Foster a classroom environment built on mutual respect, intellectual curiosity, and inclusivity.
• Work closely with the 7th-grade team to support interdisciplinary learning and holistic student well-being.
• Utilize assessment data to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of all learners.
• Maintain open and professional communication with students, families, and administration.

Qualifications

• Certification: Valid CT Teaching License/Certificate with appropriate endorsement (029 or 229), or eligibility for certification.
• Experience: Previous middle school classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of math concepts and pedagogy.
• Skills: Excellent classroom management, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

Pay

RATE OF PAY: $160.00 per day. Beginning on day 41, a certified substitute teachers' rate of pay will be based on the first step of the teachers' contract.
