Long-Term Substitute Associate Teacher – Middle Grades

Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School (ANCS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Term Associate Teacher to support students and teachers at our Middle Campus. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with students, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and create an inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, and physical development of the whole child. Primary Responsibilities Include Provide classroom instruction and support across middle school grade levels and subject areasFollow lesson plans and maintain continuity of instruction during teacher absencesCollaborate with lead teachers, support staff, and school administrators to meet students’ needsImplement instructional and assessment practices that support a range of learning styles and abilitiesDemonstrate effective classroom management and use differentiated approaches to learningBuild and maintain positive relationships with studentsSupport or facilitate an advisory class focused on whole-child developmentCommunicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and other members of the school communityParticipate fully in faculty meetings, professional learning, and other school-related activitiesWork flexible hours as needed and perform other duties as assigned Term Approximately six to eight weeks Reports To Directly to Middle Campus Principal Education Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required;Completion of a teacher preparation program and/or degree in education related field and/or Georgia special education teacher certification preferred Experience The experience and qualifications preferred for this position include: Experience working with middle school-aged studentsClassroom teaching or instructional support experienceStrong classroom management skillsAbility to support students with diverse learning needsAbility to collaborate effectively with teachers in the implementation of curriculum and instructionDemonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse groups of students, educators, and familiesKnowledge of differentiated, integrated, and experiential learning practices preferredInternational Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme experience preferred Salary Commensurate with education and experience School Mission The mission of the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School (ANCS) is to: BUILD an empowered and inclusive community of students, parents, and educatorsENGAGE the whole child—intellectually, social-emotionally, and physicallyHELP all students to know themselves and to be known well by their communityCHALLENGE each student to take an active role as an informed citizen in a global societyCOLLABORATE with the larger community to advocate for student-centered schools We are committed to strengthening and preserving diversity, fostering an environment of equity and ensuring that we are as inclusive as we can possibly be.
