About the role
Under the supervision of the Principal, the selected candidate is responsible for playing a key role in fulfillment of St. John Vianney Catholic School’s mission of Catholic education by teaching the 3rd grade class temporarily during the first semester of the academic year 2026-2027. This Long-Term Substitute Teacher will accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the third grade teacher during this temporary period until the teacher returns to the school.
Responsibilities
- Lesson planning and classroom instruction
- Grading student work
- Parent communication
- Effective classroom management
- Cooperation with school, parish, and diocesan administration
- Professional conduct in accord with the virtues the school seeks to form and inspire in its students
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Active Tennessee teaching license and/or Catholic educator credential (preferred)
- 2-5 years of prior teaching experience (preferred)
