Long Term Sub - 1st Grade

About the Role

Teach students using the curriculum adopted by South Buffalo Charter School, covering citizenship, basic communication skills, and other state-mandated subjects. Provide engaging, structured learning experiences and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs through differentiated and small-group teaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to diverse learning needs.
• Evaluate student academic and social growth, maintain records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents.
• Identify and address student needs in collaboration with professional staff to support health, attitude, and learning challenges.
• Perform attendance tracking and related administrative duties.
• Maintain professional competence through in-service education and self-directed growth activities.
• Create a functional, engaging learning environment with student involvement (e.g., displays, bulletin boards).
• Establish and uphold classroom behavior standards in cooperation with school administration.
• Participate in school-wide curriculum development and assist colleagues with student support.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or their designee.

Requirements

• Required certification: Elementary Education.

Schedule

• Full-time, long-term substitute position.
• Start date: August 24, 2026.
• PTO Days: August 24, 2026 – October 9, 2026.

Pay

Salary: $200.00 (range provided as a fixed amount).
