Long Term School Counselor

Long-term substitute School Counselor position at Ankeney Middle School. An appropriate Ohio education license is required.

Pay

• Daily rate: $135.00 per full day, $67.50 per half-day, paid within four weeks of the day worked.
• First 20 days in the same assignment: paid at the substitute Professional Staff Member (PSM) daily rate.
• Days 21–60 in the same assignment: daily rate commensurate with a Bachelor’s degree and no experience on the PSM salary schedule. No pay for scheduled school closures (e.g., in-service days, calamity days). No fringe benefits accrue.
• Day 61 and beyond in the same continuous assignment: benefits begin to accrue (sick days, personal days, calamity days). Medical and dental insurance may be purchased at 50% of the Board’s cost.
• Affordable Care Act–eligible substitutes will be offered the High Deductible Health Insurance Plan available at the time of eligibility.
• Any break in continuous service (except approved unforeseen emergencies) resets pay to the current substitute PSM daily rate and restarts the pay progression.
• Reassignment to another position during a continuous assignment does not constitute a break in service.

Schedule

• Long-term substitute assignment defined as more than five consecutive days in the same position.
• Days 1–60: no pay for scheduled school closures (e.g., in-service days, calamity days).

Requirements

• Appropriate Ohio education license.
• Criminal background clearance required.
