About the Role
We're looking for experienced painting 1099 subcontractors to build a long-term working relationship for residential and commercial projects in the Stamford-Greenwich area. We provide the paint and materials; you provide the labor, tools, equipment, and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Properly prepare the surrounding area with appropriate protective coverings.
- Prepare surfaces by identifying and correcting imperfections.
- Apply the correct paint material coverage on a clean surface.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Complete the project within the allotted productivity time, resulting in a minimum Level 3 Finish based on PCA Standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional painting experience.
- Must have an established, fully insured painting business (general liability) with Workers' Compensation coverage (or a valid exemption).
- OSHA Training and EPA Lead-Safe certification.
- Must have your own transportation.
- Must own all necessary painting equipment (ladders, rollers, brushes, drop cloths, sprayers, etc.).
- Must be willing to pass a basic background check.
- Must reside in New Haven & Fairfield County, CT or Putnam & Westchester County, NY.
Preferred Experience
- Managing your own painting crew (2-3+ painters).
- Experience running jobs and managing people.
- Commercial experience: Dryfall, spray booths, metal roofs, wrought iron, Pro Coat systems, etc.
- Interior experience: Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinet painting/refinishing, popcorn ceiling removal, wallpaper installation/removal, stairwells, hardwood floor sealing.
- Exterior experience: Fence and deck painting/sealing, epoxy floors, garage doors, power washing, deck/concrete/paver sealing, light drywall repair, exterior wall painting.

Pay
Projects are paid on a per-project basis, averaging between $25 and $35 an hour depending on experience.
