Guardian Pharmacy of Eastern Michigan, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our rapidly growing team in Brighton, Michigan. We deliver customized medication management solutions to healthcare organizations serving seniors and individuals with complex care needs, using a comprehensive suite of tech-enabled pharmacy services.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (rotating shifts)

Pay

Pay range: $115,000 - $145,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging.
  • Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly.
  • Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.
  • Interpret prescription orders, exercising professional judgment in determining whether to dispense a particular prescription, taking into account patient safety and legal limitations.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations and applicable guidelines for compounding.
  • Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed.
  • Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par; look up cost-effective products for exception items.
  • Notify customer/facility if product is out of stock and provide estimated fulfillment time.
  • Restock station supplies such as vials, cassettes, labels, and delivery tickets.
  • Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians and provide feedback to their supervisor regarding performance.
  • Log all medication error occurrences.
  • Perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
  • Active, unrestricted State Pharmacist License.
  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Advanced computer skills; experience with pharmacy operations systems preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems with minimal direction, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Medical consulting experience preferred.
