About the role
The Long-Term Care Auditor I is an entry level position responsible for the identification and recovery of Medicaid improper payments made to long term care healthcare providers. Gainwell Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply federal and state Medicaid regulations, statutes, and policies related to long term care.
- Analyze provider records across multiple accounting software systems to identify discrepancies.
- Identify improper payments, including those resulting from inaccurate payments, collections issues, and coordination of benefits.
- Serve as the primary liaison for assigned long term care providers, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Manage a caseload of 30+ in various stages of completion.
- Prepare and deliver provider reports and maintain ongoing communication throughout the audit process.
- Provide regular status updates and reports to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required or Associate’s degree with five(5) years of related experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet or exceed revenue and audit targets
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and long term care providers
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and follow direction as needed

Pay
The pay range for this position is $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
