The Opportunity
The Logistics Supervisor position will assist the Logistics Manager in all aspects of warehousing and distribution for Manufacturing and Assembly Plants.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Administering and maintaining new and existing Logistics procedures
- Communicate department procedures to all Logistics Employees
- Monitor compliance and regulations for NAFTA - investing shipments and completing documentation
- Absorb and update training manuals, materials, and investing packages for ORM-D Consumer Commodity
- Investigate, review and audit freight bills and payments
- Assist with expedited shipments for all SWMD locations
- Assist all SWMD facilities with transportation needs
- Provide cost estimates for all modes of transport
- Provide project pricing and work with carriers and facilities to execute projects
- Assist with daily tracking updates
- Manage/Lead projects from various locations for all modes of transit
- Monitor monthly freight spend and provide reports to Logistics Manager
- Process parcels (FedEx/UPS/USPS) jobs for all locations
- Assist in training Employees on the AS400 system
- Review all projects with management and update as needed
- Confer with logistics team to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, and minimize cost
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and minimize waste
- Maintain DOT regulations for two DOT drivers on site
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED minimum
- Must have knowledge of warehousing and distribution with at least 3 years’ experience within a Material Handling department
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Knowledge of and basic computer skills
- Must be proficient with Excel spreadsheets and data entry
- AS400 system
Qualifications
