Logistics Specialist / Truck Driver TS/SCI

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Specialist – Truck Driver to support warehouse operations logistics in the Winchester, VA area, including shipping, receiving, accountability, and storage.

About the role

You will directly support our customers’ warehouse operations logistics lifecycle, including shipping and receiving, accountability, and storage. This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE, with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.

Responsibilities

• Execute logistics and warehousing activities:
  • Operate software programs for procurement, inventory management, and supply chain planning.
  • Maintain and update inventories in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
  • Use Microsoft Office suite to generate reports on logistics activities for leadership.
  • Package and document all materials, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and packing.
  • Safely and efficiently use Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Transportation activities:
  • Receive local or nationwide trip assignments.
  • Perform safety inspections of vehicles and note repairs on vehicle condition reports.
  • Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure readiness for trips.
  • Assist with truck loading, adhering to weight distribution guidelines and limitations.
  • Drive trucks to designated delivery points, potentially accompanied by another driver.
  • Identify items requiring special handling at delivery points.
  • Unload trucks using material handling equipment.
  • Assist with loading backhaul cargo, following weight distribution guidelines.

Travel as needed (20-30%).

Work Environment

• Work in a warehouse environment with potential exposure to fumes, noise, and dust.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Use computer terminals regularly.

Requirements

• Class A CDL with 10 years of over-the-road driving experience.
• Must pass a DOT Physical.
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE, with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Thorough knowledge of safe operation of vehicles and material handling equipment, including:
  • Cab-over, day cab, and conventional tractors.
  • Flatbed, lowboy, car carrier, 53-foot, and wide-load trailers.
• Expert ability to read maps and follow directions to locate delivery destinations.
• Ability to operate box trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• HAZMAT endorsement.
• Forklift certification up to 8,000 lb capacity, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Pay

$85,000 - $100,000 per year.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day (in-office).
