Logistics Specialist (Second Shift)

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for assisting the Logistics Supervisor in coordinating the shipping activities for outbound shipments and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers and distribution centers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and customer-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist and coordinate the transportation of goods to ensure timely delivery to customers and distribution centers.
- Oversee outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams, external partners, and customers to facilitate smooth logistics operations and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements for domestic and international shipments, including customs clearance and export/import regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shipments and logistics operations, and upload all shipping documentation into WorkNet.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by responding promptly to inquiries, providing updates on shipment status, and addressing any concerns or issues related to logistics.
- Adhere to established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Cover for the Shipping Supervisor when absent and perform any other duties as required by the manager/supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years’ experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to accurately track and manage shipments and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common logistics objectives.
- Dedication to meeting customer needs and expectations by delivering products on time, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a high level of service quality in all logistical activities.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods (approximately 40% of the workday). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and buddy lift up to 100 lbs. Mechanical assistance is required for loads exceeding 100 lbs. Must be able to bend, squat, and climb, and perform extended periods of computer-based work, including close visual focus.
