Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist works closely with the Logistics Manager to support the project team. Key responsibilities include managing material handling, receiving, quality checks, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient laydown yard activities.

Requirements

• Proven delivery of material by reconciling actual material received with material purchase orders
• Communicate material receipt specifics to Material Management (MM) lead, including proof of delivery documentation, material location, material purchase order shortages, and other necessary information
• Ensure material is stored in an orderly manner and track internal movements of material
• Perform periodic inventory counts and reconcile actual material counts with inventory reports, noting variances and communicating them to MM lead
• Pull specific material for shipment/movement to assembly using material shipping requests
• Palletize or prepare material for parcel packaging and communicate readiness to MM lead
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signal machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks
• Clearly understand all processes and SOPs necessary for effective performance of duties

Physical Requirements

• May be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone, along with other general office equipment
• Close vision abilities required due to computer work
• Light to moderate lifting/carrying of 25 lbs may be required
• Sit at a computer terminal for an extended period
