Responsibilities
- Operate overhead electric bridge crane with hoist and operator’s cab mounted on bridge to lift, move, and place metal bar stock.
- Follow standard or prescribed methods, procedures, and instructions.
- Operate forklift, trackmobile, and switch tractor as necessary.
- Load and unload material or equipment from trucks, rail cars, shuttles, under the supervision of a ship checker/loader or supervisor.
- Transfer stock length bars from shuttle cars into storage areas or railcars and trucks.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on crane prior to operation.
- Detect and report any malfunctions of equipment.
- Visually inspect or detect indications of slipping or shifting loads, incorrect hitching, faulty slings, faulty load placement, or faulty stacking.
- Locate bundled and tagged bars as identified on loading schedules or by checker loaders.
- Designate specific vehicles for loads, ensuring that axle weight does not exceed current DOT limits.
- Promptly attend to hand signals to ensure safe and proper loading and unloading of materials, while avoiding excessive swinging and handling obstacles.
- Use fork truck or crane to transfer dunnage from storage areas into warehouses as needed or directed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- One to three years of industrial or manufacturing experience operating an overhead crane and forklift.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule (Dupont).

Pay
Starting pay is $26.53 per hour plus a bonus, with an estimated average earning of $70,360 - $81,700 per year. Benefits start on your first day of hire.
Schedule
Rotating 12-hour shift (Dupont).
