Logistics Merchandiser

Key Responsibilities

• Cook up with the sales team to sync customer schedules and transportation needs
• Dispatch loads to carriers in line with customer timelines
• Act as the first point of contact for both customers and carriers concerning logistics inquiries
• Build and nurture strong carrier relationships to enhance performance and capacity
• Negotiate freight rates to reduce expenses for clients
• Evaluate route profitability and spot areas for improvement
• Support the smooth execution of freight movement

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Capable of juggling multiple shipments and priorities in a hectic environment
• An analytical mind that can assess route profitability and freight costs
• Negotiation skills and the confidence to interact with carriers and vendors
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (preferred)
• Understanding of transportation, trucking, or logistics operations (preferred, but not required)
