Logistics Material Handler-1st shift
About the role
As a material handler in our Dayton distribution center, you will perform a variety of warehouse and material movement activities to ensure customer orders, inventory, and warehouse needs are fulfilled accurately and on time. This role is essential to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant distribution center operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform receiving, picking, checking, and loading activities in accordance with SOPs and work instructions
- Accurately complete system transactions to maintain inventory integrity
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, RF scanners, shrink wrappers, dock equipment, and related tools
- Conduct required equipment safety checks and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Support material flow including put-away, replenishment, and line service activities
- Meet established productivity, quality, and safety performance standards
Requirements
- Forklift experience (required, stand-up Crown preferred)
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Skill in safely operating material handling equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized work instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with changing priorities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to successfully obtain and maintain internal powered industrial truck (forklift) certification within five (5) working days of placement into the position
- Demonstrate ability to safely perform material movement tasks including picking, loading, and equipment operation at all times
- Meet required training and proficiency expectations for assigned material handler level and tasks (including task and route proficiency as applicable)
- Comply with all safety, quality, and operational policies and procedures at all times
Schedule
Shift is Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay
Compensation Range: $14.80 - $27.50 per hour. Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
