Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of distribution and logistics performance — shipping, returns, warehouse operations, and related functions — ensuring the order fulfillment lifecycle runs safely, consistently, and efficiently.
- Set clear direction and hold the distribution function accountable at every level.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the VP of Operations and other key stakeholders, shaping enterprise-wide operational plans and decisions.
- Design and govern the distribution operating model with long-term scalability and reliability in mind.
- Represent the distribution function in cross-departmental planning and initiatives.
- Put in place standards, processes, and governance that create consistency and operational discipline.
- Guide the ongoing development and use of distribution technology, including WMS and shipping platforms.
Continuous Improvement & Performance Management
- Champion a data-driven approach to performance across distribution — tracking KPIs for throughput, cost, service levels, labor productivity, and quality.
- Use data, analytics, and WMS/TMS tools to spot opportunities, risks, and bottlenecks affecting service, cost, and throughput.
- Drive continuous improvement practices and structured problem-solving, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact and organizational readiness.
- Keep distribution performance transparent, measurable, and tied to broader company goals.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead and grow a high-performing distribution team at every level.
- Cultivate a culture rooted in engagement, ownership, safety, and operational excellence.
- Develop leadership strength and succession planning within the function.
- Lead through change with empathy, clarity, and emotional intelligence.
Skills & Experience
- Substantial leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- At least 5 years in logistics, supply chain, order fulfillment, engineering, or a related field, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, operations, or a related field (master's degree a plus).
- Solid grasp of WMS/TMS systems, analytics tools, material handling equipment, and operational technology, with demonstrated ability to design and lead complex operating models.
- Track record of leading successfully through change, complexity, and ambiguity — balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on operational know-how.
