Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintains quality, cost, and efficiency of goods movement and storage.
- Analyzes logistics data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
- Understands and administers company's quality and materials policies.
- Reviews and understands customer production requirements.
- Facilitates and manages continuous improvement processes regarding logistics, material flow, layout, etc.
- Supports the company in defending against claims issued by vendors or customers.
- Tracks material flow for each program entering and exiting the warehouse.
- Develops and initiates preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems for logistics support.
- Procures necessary supplies and equipment to accomplish objectives.
- Works closely with development, industrialization, and quality to ensure customer satisfaction for current and new programs.
- Works closely with Controlling to ensure high quality data in the MRP system.
- Works closely with Central Logistics in establishing freight needs and moves.
- Ensures high quality information flow to avoid receiving, shipping, and payment issues through the supply chain.
- Manages repacking activities for supplier-specific needs located inside the warehouse.
- Maintains inventory levels and expected inventory over the next 4 months.
- Develops weekly repacking needs monthly and weekly.
- Tracks shipments from suppliers for FG inventory per agreements.
- Optimizes transport costs and avoids expedites.
- Ensures accuracy of inventory.
- Performs special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions.
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Captures and directs production operations and establishes priorities to ensure production and quality of product specifications.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Solves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Plant Manager and Human Resources for action.
- Develops budgets and approves expenditures for supplies, materials, and human capital.
- Tracks and compiles employee time off, accident incidents, time keeping, and unplanned absenteeism for plant management review.
- Performs other duties as required or requested by management.
- Utilizes computer techniques for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation.
- Oversees the inventory of raw material, components, finished and in-process products.
- Re-develops and organizes warehouse storage area as business grows, and product parts are added.
- Directs and oversees responsibilities of the shipping and receiving personnel.
- Implements and maintains health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in Automotive logistics and familiar with TS16949 and MMOG requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Internet software, and Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word Processing software.
- Experience with Automotive Customer Portals/Visual Basics/AS-400/SAP is a plus.
- Must have experience and good working knowledge in inventory and material flow systems and software, Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methods, and at least basic knowledge of inventory structures, and the AS-400/SAP systems.
- Strategic knowledge of auto industry, Mubea operations & products, and knows Mubea strategy, Annual plan & operational goals and how individual work impacts others.
- A general knowledge or training of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Lockout&Tagout, Hazcom, plant safety, HazWaste, ISO 14001, and quality and materials policies required.
